May 2015 to September 2016 – Yellow Door (formerly Southampton Rape Crisis-United Kingdom)
Volunteer
This organization specializes in supporting individuals who have been victims of sexual abuse.
I assisted the helpline, which provided by the organization, had been put in place to help people who found themselves in moments of crisis, or for those who needed help and information. These people were able to call the organization on specific days and times, and would usually be answered by volunteers, such as myself.
I also helped out with doing assessments for potential clients. My specific role as a volunteer was to help with the assessment process. The purpose of the assessment was to identify what kind of support we could provide the individual.
